THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!

Sunlight Village has a mission to promote and support the mental health and wellbeing of youth, young adults and families through quality programs and services with a focus on inner-city, West Dayton communities.

Our mission is at the heart of everything we do, and it highlights the importance of mental health awareness in our work!

Why is Mental Health Awareness Important to Us? Raising awareness breaks down the stigma surrounding mental illness and creates a more supportive community where those who are struggling will feel more comfortable seeking help and support when they need it. For youth, young adults, and families in underserved communities, access to mental health resources and support can be limited. That’s why it’s important for organizations like ours to advocate for mental health awareness and provide quality programs and services that address the unique needs of these communities.

Together, we can create a community where mental health is valued, supported, and prioritized!!

Mental Health Awareness Month is a great time to raise awareness of the importance of mental health in children and teens. Keep an eye out for any social or behavioral changes in your children.

You can learn more about the signs at samhsa.gov/mental-health.

SPECIAL THANK YOU!

Mathile Foundation:

Through this grant funded program, Sunlight Village was able to serve over 160 youth, young adults and adults/families who lived in and around West Dayton communities. We reached this population through mental health community connection events and mental health groups that we provided.

Weller Charities:

This funding will support our efforts to put additional staffing hours within our program for dedicated advocate services working directly with youth while still incarcerated, implementing and ensuring connections to CFS and other community resources.

CONNECTIONS FOR SUCCESS YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

Our youth continued their community service and workforce development by participating in the City Wide community clean-up, neighborhood clean-ups and working with other businesses for skilled trade assignments.

Hello Village! I hope you all are well. I just want to say thank you for all your support, prayers, donations, calls and well wishes. We are in a period of transition and growth, which can be challenging and difficult but with dedicated supporters, advocates, family, and friends we remain hopeful and inspired to take on each challenge as an opportunity to serve our community in a more excellent way!
